DK AWS SDK Docs

DK AWS SDK supplies the AWS SDK for PHP to other DK plugins. It has no settings screen and does not store AWS credentials. If you still need help or would like to request a change, please email me.

What DK AWS SDK provides

This plugin loads the Composer autoloader for the AWS SDK for PHP so other DK plugins can use AWS service clients without bundling duplicate SDK copies.

Bundled AWS SDK for PHP version: 3.394.1

It is infrastructure, not a configuration plugin. AWS regions, endpoints, access keys, secrets, and service-specific options belong in the plugin that uses the SDK.

Installation

  1. Install and activate DK Base Plugin.
  2. Install DK AWS SDK from the DK Plugins page.
  3. Keep DK AWS SDK active while any dependent plugin is active.

A missing vendor/autoload.php file means the installation is incomplete and must be replaced with a complete release package.

Using the shared SDK

Dependent plugins should declare dk-aws-sdk in their WordPress Requires Plugins header and verify that the required AWS class is available before creating a client.

if (!class_exists(\Aws\Sdk::class)) {
    return;
}

$client = new \Aws\S3\S3Client($configuration);

Use the consuming plugin's settings or secure server configuration for credentials. Do not hardcode credentials in DK AWS SDK or commit them to a plugin repository.

The installed AWS package versions are governed by this plugin's composer.lock file so every release uses a reproducible dependency set.

Maintaining the generated vendor directory

For development, use the NetBeans Build Vendor action after an intentional Composer dependency change or when the generated vendor directory is missing. The action installs production dependencies from composer.lock and validates the result.

The vendor directory is intentionally not tracked by Git. Release Build verifies that its package names and versions exactly match composer.lock, then adds it to the release ZIP as a separate archive pass.

Troubleshooting

  • Missing autoloader notice: install a complete release or rebuild vendor in a development checkout.
  • AWS class unavailable: confirm DK AWS SDK is active and vendor/aws/aws-sdk-php is present.
  • Release validation mismatch: rebuild vendor from the committed lock file; do not edit generated vendor files manually.
  • AWS request failure: inspect the consuming plugin's credentials, endpoint, region, permissions, and request logs.
