Open DK Plugins → Carousels and choose Hero, Cards, Testimonials, or Logos. Each type has a purpose-built item editor, so testimonial-only fields never appear on cards or logos. Existing prototype records are intentionally left unconfigured and must be recreated with the new editor.
Hero, Testimonials, and Logos use manually ordered items. Cards can also use published posts, pages, products, or another public post type. Dynamic cards support an item limit, ordering, include and exclude ID lists, and an optional featured-image requirement.
Open Preview in the builder to render your unsaved settings. Choose desktop, tablet, or mobile width and use Refresh preview after editing. Preview does not save or publish the carousel; the surrounding page and theme can affect its final appearance.
Select configured records in the Carousels list and choose the Export Carousels bulk action to download JSON. Import Carousels accepts exports up to 5 MB and 100 records, creating new drafts without changing existing records or plugin defaults. Images are matched by their original URL; optionally download missing images. Review unresolved images, site-specific links, query IDs, and custom templates before publishing. Use each imported record's new shortcode ID.
Set the visible slide count for mobile, tablet, and desktop without writing breakpoint JSON. Gap, transition speed, looping, centering, navigation arrows, pagination, autoplay delay, hover pause, and interaction behavior are available in one expandable panel.
Looping requires more slides than the largest slides-per-view setting across all breakpoints. Swiper controls slide animation and instant loop repositioning without extra buffers. Pagination occupies a separate row outside the clipped card viewport.
Use the DK Carousels block or [dk_carousel id="123"] to render a configured carousel. Theme template overrides remain available under dk-carousels/presets/{slug}.php through the collapsed Developer Options panel.
The frontend uses DK Base's shared Swiper bundle and plain JavaScript in the footer. The admin builder uses WordPress media views and jQuery UI Sortable; settings use DK Base's modal and blocking helpers. No Font Awesome is required.
