Welcome to the DK WC Coupon Rules Docs page. Instructions for creating and testing rule-based coupons can be found here.

Create a rule-based coupon

  1. Go to Marketing > Coupons and create or edit a coupon.
  2. Select Rule-based percentage discount as the discount type.
  3. Enter the percentage in Coupon amount.
  4. Set the quantity threshold and choose whether it applies to the same product or variation or all eligible cart items.
  5. Enable Apply to Cart Subtotal when eligible products should qualify the rule but the percentage should apply to the full current cart subtotal.
  6. Optionally restrict eligibility with WooCommerce products, product categories, or one global product attribute.

Quantity scopes

  • Same product or variation: Split cart lines are combined only when they represent the same purchasable product ID. Different variations are evaluated separately.
  • All eligible cart items: Quantities from every eligible product are added together. Use this for a promotion such as buying any three eligible products.

Automatic application

Enable Apply automatically when the coupon should be added as soon as its rules are satisfied. The plugin silently removes it when the rules are no longer satisfied. WooCommerce's Individual use only setting controls whether the automatic coupon can be combined with other coupons.

The optional Applied message appears above the classic cart. Automatically managed coupons do not show a remove link because their presence is controlled by their rules.

Pricing and coupon interaction

By default, the configured percentage applies only to qualifying products. Enable Apply to Cart Subtotal to calculate it from the full current cart subtotal instead. WooCommerce allocates that total across cart lines for tax accounting. Sale-priced items are included at their current cart prices.

The rule-based discount type always allows sale-priced items, so WooCommerce's Exclude sale items setting is disabled for these coupons.

Rule-based coupons follow WooCommerce's Individual use only setting. When enabled, applying the coupon replaces incompatible coupons and an incompatible incoming coupon can replace it. When disabled, compatible coupons can remain applied together.

Replacing DK WC Quantity Discount Coupons

Migration is manual. Record the old coupon settings, deactivate DK WC Quantity Discount Coupons, activate this plugin, and recreate the coupon with the new rule fields. Do not run both plugins at the same time.
