DK WC Live Orders records Physical, Digital, or mixed orders after an in-person payment has already been received. It does not collect payment or record your event selling prices or external transaction details.
Requirements: WordPress 6.0 or later, PHP 8.0 or later, WooCommerce 8.0 or later, DK Base Plugin, and DK WC Cart Item Notes. Required plugins must be active; missing dependencies disable the workflow and produce an admin notice.
[dk_wc_live_orders] when no valid page is assigned. To use a different page, add [dk_wc_live_orders] to its content and then select it in settings. The page selector only lists pages containing that shortcode.
These settings are independent: either, both, or neither may be enabled. Turning either off removes that step; it does not allow logged-out visitors to create orders or make the plugin collect payment.
Always Show Live Icon is off by default, so the shortcut appears after a successful order. Enable it to make the Live icon available on every frontend page for allowed sellers, including the customer-entry screen. Using it opens a fresh seller form, so retrieve the device before starting another order.
Start Next Order Icon Roles defaults to Administrator and Shop Manager. A user must have both an allowed role and permission to manage WooCommerce. The icon appears beside header navigation or a menu button; themes without a suitable header use a fixed top-right position.
Deactivation retains settings. Uninstall removes the plugin's configuration but retains the generated page and WooCommerce order history.
The seller form starts in Digital mode. Switch between Digital and Physical without losing selections; the summary combines both catalogs. Bookmark the assigned page with ?dk_live_order_type=digital or ?dk_live_order_type=physical to choose the initial catalog.
Products must be published and purchasable, satisfy the category filter, and meet WooCommerce stock and backorder rules. Product and variation editors offer Live Orders fulfillment choices:
A variation's explicit fulfillment override takes precedence over its parent's setting.
When DK Book Series is active and relevant, book products are organized into Collections, configured series, and Non-Series Books. Other products are grouped by top-level WooCommerce category. If DK Book Series is unavailable, the catalog uses category grouping.
Within a series banner, books follow the Series Number attribute's configured sorting, including its custom term order. Books without a Series Number appear after numbered books, ordered by product publish date from oldest to newest. Collections, Merch, Non-Series Books, and other category groups remain alphabetical. This applies to both Physical and Digital catalogs.
Physical products provide variation selectors where needed. When DK WC Merch is active, recognized merch products use its configured custom controls, including Size buttons and Color swatches. Choose a valid variation before clicking ADD.
Each Physical ADD click selects one copy. The summary combines the quantity, but each copy becomes a separate quantity-one order item so it can retain its own personalization. Digital entries use checkboxes, and each purchasable Digital item can be selected once.
The approved selection is held on the server for up to 30 minutes and is tied to the logged-in seller. The customer cannot replace its products, variations, fulfillment types, or Physical quantities. No order, stock reduction, payment-completion event, or email is created until the customer submits the approved order.
When password approval is enabled, WordPress checks the seller's password; the plugin does not store it. Five failed password attempts trigger a five-minute approval lockout.
After the success message, take the device back and use the Live icon to start a fresh seller form. Its visibility depends on the allowed roles and Always Show Live Icon setting described under Setup.
The customer enters their details on the seller's logged-in device. They do not need a WordPress account. Live Orders are recorded as guest orders rather than assigned to the seller's customer account.
Customer screens do not include Back, Cancel, Reset, or Start Over controls. After reviewing their details, the customer clicks Submit Details and returns the device to the seller when the success message appears.
The form asks browsers to disable address autocomplete, but browsers may still offer saved addresses. Use a dedicated event-device browser profile with address autofill disabled to avoid showing another person's saved details.
DK WC Cart Item Notes category and product exclusion settings determine which Physical products offer personalization. Every displayed field is optional and has a 150-character maximum. Each Physical copy has its own field. Nonempty values are stored with that copy through DK WC Cart Item Notes; blank fields are ignored. Digital items do not request personalization.
Use WooCommerce > Live Orders to open the native WooCommerce order list filtered to Live Orders. Physical-only and mixed orders use normal Processing status until fulfillment, then can be moved to Completed using standard WooCommerce controls. Digital-only orders are immediately Completed.
Each completed submission creates one zero-value WooCommerce order containing all selected products. It records the Cash on Delivery payment method with the title CASH, even though the actual payment was received outside WooCommerce. Product totals, tax, and shipping totals are zero; this is not a record of the event's sales revenue.
WooCommerce's normal payment-completion process runs for the order. Existing download, BookFunnel, printer, and other integrations act according to their own configuration. Repeated submission of the same completed session returns the existing order rather than creating another one.
Live Orders use WooCommerce's standard New Order, Processing Order, and Completed Order notifications. Product names, variations, quantities, personalization, customer information, and shipping information remain available, but product prices and all financial totals are removed from Live Order HTML and plain-text emails because event prices may differ from WooCommerce catalog prices. Ordinary WooCommerce emails are unchanged.
An eligible DK WC Merch item triggers the configured printer email through its existing payment-complete and order-status hooks. DK WC Merch tracks successful printer delivery to prevent duplicate printer emails.
[dk_wc_live_orders] to the page's content, then reload the settings page and assign it.If the Live icon is missing, check the user's allowed role, WooCommerce management permission, and Always Show Live Icon setting. With that setting off, the shortcut appears after success.
If an email or digital delivery is missing, check the order status, WooCommerce email settings, and the relevant delivery plugin's configuration. Monetary values are intentionally absent from Live Order emails.
