Use Store Message in DK WC Store

DK WC Store Message is retired. Operational announcements are now available in DK WC Store 2.2.0 or later, alongside the independently configured Store Notice.

Two separate features

Store Message displays a full-width announcement above the storefront, such as a travel-related shipping delay or holiday closure. Store Notice displays content inside the store layout, such as current deals. Each has its own content, enable switch, schedule, and location choices; both can appear together.

If you are not currently using a message

Update or install DK WC Store 2.2.0 or later and deactivate DK WC Store Message. Leave the built-in Store Message disabled until you need an announcement. No settings transfer is needed.

If you want to keep an existing announcement

There is no automatic settings import. Before deactivating the standalone plugin, note its message and schedule if you want to recreate them. Keep DK Base Plugin and WooCommerce active. DK WC Store provides a custom storefront layout as well as this announcement feature; review its store settings if you are installing it for the first time.

  1. Install or update and activate DK WC Store 2.2.0 or later.
  2. Open DK Plugins > Store > Store Message Settings. Use this tab, rather than Store Notice Settings.
  3. Enter the announcement and choose its start and end dates/times. Select the store, classic cart, and classic checkout locations where it should appear.
  4. Select Enable Message and save, then deactivate DK WC Store Message. Both plugins can run while you prepare, but enabling both announcements can show duplicate banners.
  5. Check the selected pages and refresh or clear their page caches to confirm the announcement appears once.

Scheduling differences

The built-in message is disabled by default. Its enable switch turns it off without clearing the text or schedule. Unlike the standalone plugin, blank start and end dates mean an enabled message displays continuously. Leave it disabled if you do not want an announcement.

Schedules use the WordPress site timezone. A start date without a time begins at midnight; an end date without a time includes the whole day. Time inputs accept 15-minute intervals, times without dates are ignored, and an end time includes its selected minute. The same schedule applies to the selected locations.

Cart and checkout placement uses classic WooCommerce hooks; there is no dedicated Cart or Checkout block integration. Schedules are checked when pages render, so open pages and page caches may need refreshing at scheduled boundaries.

Removing the standalone plugin

Deactivation retains the standalone settings. Delete Data On Uninstall is off by default; leave it off to retain them, or enable it in the standalone settings before deleting the plugin if you want to remove them. These standalone settings are separate from the built-in Store Message settings.
